Woolworths Holdings Limited is a South African-based business, one of the Top 40 companies listed on the JSE, in the Diversified Retail sector, since 1997.

The Group, headed up by CEO Roy Bagattini, oversees two main trading brands: Woolworths South Africa operating across 11 countries in sub-Saharan Africa; and WHL Australasia which includes David Jones based and trading in Australia and New Zealand, and Country Road Group based in Australia and trading in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Woolworths South Africa offers primarily private label products, with selected fashion, beauty, homeware and food ranges. Financial services are provided through Woolworths Financial Services, a joint venture between Woolworths Holdings Group Limited and ABSA Group Limited, with ABSA owning a 50% share. The Woolworths Financial Services board is constituted with directors from both the Woolworths Holdings Group Limited and ABSA Group Limited, with direction on credit policy, risk, and funding aspects received from ABSA and direction on customer integration from the Woolworths Holdings Limited Group.
