Dis-Chem is predominantly a South African retailer with a limited presence in Namibia and Botswana.
Dis-Chem launched The Local Choice (TLC) brand that includes a franchise network of 122 smaller independently-owned community pharmacies. The Group acquired CJ Distribution in 2016, combining operations with Dis-Chem wholesale to fulfil distribution capabilities. Dis-Chem Pharmacies is a leading distributor of pharmaceutical, personal care and household products in South Africa. In January 2021, Dis-Chem Group acquired the Baby City store network of 33 outlets across South Africa.
