Dis-Chem Pharmacies Ltd, headed up by founding CEO Ivan Saltzman, is a retail pharmacy group listed on the JSE since November 2016. The Group has 194 stores with 1 or more clinics per store, adding up to 336 clinics as at end FY2021 across Southern Africa. Dis-Chem is predominantly a South African retailer with a limited presence in Namibia and Botswana.

Dis-Chem launched The Local Choice (TLC) brand that includes a franchise network of 122 smaller independently-owned community pharmacies. The Group acquired CJ Distribution in 2016, combining operations with Dis-Chem wholesale to fulfil distribution capabilities. Dis-Chem Pharmacies is a leading distributor of pharmaceutical, personal care and household products in South Africa. In January 2021, Dis-Chem Group acquired the Baby City store network of 33 outlets across South Africa.
